Creating a platform for art enthusiasts!

I am really interested in creating or collaborating to organize some sort of art based organization or group. I would love to hear some ideas or input (especially those interested in being a part of it) as to how to connect people who share the same passion. Ideally, there would be a few local artists who would be interested in helping organize shows, or focus on bringing the art community together both locally and across the states. This organization is not specific to painters but arts of any and all kinds. I also hope this will serve as a platform for locals to meet people with similar interests and learn how to get started in an art based career (finding local shows etc). Please post any and all ideas! I can't wait to hear from you!

  1. Dear Brooke,

If you live here in Bloomington and are looking at getting involved in the art community, you have several different options to choose from. I recommend checking into some of the already established groups that are here in the community looking for members like yourself! Trained Eye Arts in a collective of 2d and 3d artists. We put on events and shows monthly. Our meetings are Tuesdays at 6:30 for the events meeting, and sundays at 1 pm are our board meetings.. 300 w hillside..same building as sprout box and soapy soap company.

Clay arts guild is a group of artists as well to check into, the arts alliance is a great group of older people who meet monthly or so, the watercolor society... there are lots of great options.
Open studio tour is coming up at the end of April. Its a big art show on the last saturday and sunday of April. Come to a trained eye meeting if youre interested. we might have one more spot. Hope to see you soon.
